Cause for Concern?
Newbie, here. I am raising a red flag--or should I say a cherry-red metallic flag? The clear coat on my 75th Anniversary 330 is flaking off, especially on the neck. Has anyone else had this experience? Is there anything that can be done to prevent further damage?
Thanks,
Joe

This could go on to affect a larger area, or it could stop right where it is. This is the first instance I've heard of any clearcoat problems with the DCMs.
Some pictures would help to diagnose the cause, but it's most likely a combination of thermal and mechanical shock, especially if the problem is near the neck heel, where the neck joins the body.

Thanks for your response! But how do I post pictures? Sorry, but I am technically challenged.
Is there a way in which to repair the damage?

Either host the pictures on a website and link to them (Use the URL button at the top of the text box), or else upload them to the RRF server (Use the Upload attachment tab below the text box.

Joe, I liked "hectically challenged" better.gretsch929 wrote:Thanks for your response! But how do I post pictures? Sorry, but I am technically challenged.

Made you sound like a really relaxed guy...
There's always a way to repair any damage. It can range from five minutes in the new prototype 75th Anniversary Model Modular Molecular Rejuvenator Chamber (which had a reasonable success rate in testing, but occasionally acts like a tree chipper; the excitement is in the risk), to a complete rebuild. Most projects are in the range between.

In between...is that the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator treatment?jingle_jangle wrote:There's always a way to repair any damage. Oh! Yuse guys! Paul--I am both hectically and technically challenged. Still struggling with posting pics; however, as long as I know that fixing the damage is a possibility, then I can live with the issue for now. The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator treatment? Shouldn't that be the Imodium Q-36 or do I have a metal block?
