New Member w/ C64 Question

Post by SMR 78 »

Well, not so new to lurking but new to posting. And I definitely want to extend my appreciation to all the knowledgeable users here and for all the great information I've been able to get from this Forum.

My question: are there any measurable differences between the earlier 4001 C64s (20002 and next few years) and the most recent ones that they're shipping now for 2009? I was wondering specifically about any differences in neck thickness and the ohm ratings of the toaster and horseshoe pickups. I checked the "measure your girth" thread but wasn't able to see a comparison of these years' C64s for the neck thickness.

Thanks!

I haven't had the chance to compare much. My C64S is a 2003. Most of the ones I've played were made around the same time. As far as I know, the electronics remained the same for the whole run. There has to be some differences in the necks though. Mine is flat and D shaped, but I've played others that were more C shaped.

Welcome to the forum, Scott.
