Things We Said Today

Post by admin »

Yes you are in The Searchers' Forum. I had never realized that the Beatles' "Things We Said Today" was offered to The Searchers. Apparently red tape got in the way and the offer did not pan out. As I think of this, I wonder how it would have differed from the Bealtes' recording. Perhaps harmony throughout the verse as well as the chorus. What do you think? It was never a hit for the Fab Four, would it have been for The Searchers?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I think they would have used a more "electric" guitar sound than the Beatles' version. I don't know the vocal would have been different. If you listen real close, it sounds like it was written for Mike's voice.

John: I can hear the trademark McNally rhythm guitar now!
