I simply adore THIS IS SPINAL TAP. It was a brilliant movie and their subsequent films (Best In Show et als) are great as well. But they need to let it go.

I wouldn't go see them live but I'd surely watch another Tap film if they made one.

I know I'm in the minority around here but I never got the whole Spinal Tap thing so the Fallon gig not being good comes as no surprise.

they're good musicians,and hilarious comics,but i think the s.t. parody hits a little too close to home for most fans of the genre.......

They should have just played a classic----***** school, Stonehenge, Sex Farm Woman, Big Bottom, Give me some money etc.....THAT would have been cooler.

And I totally disagree...I thought it was great, hilarious as always and well executed. Okay, maybe no 'pink torpedo' references, etc...some might prefer that pants-down pie-in-the-face humor, and that's fine...but this was nice and subtle. "We're slammin' Death's door" isn't funny? "Give me reincarnation or give me death" isn't funny? I L'd my A off...

The earlier stuff was on the money when it came to depicting middle-aged rockers just having crested the hill and not being able to accept the fact. This is equally right on when it comes to the same sort of guys coming out of retirement as senior citizens and 'going to the well' one more time, maybe one time too many. Christopher Guest and his buddies are quite intentional when it comes to busting on something that needs busting on...and they continue to excel at it.

Spinal Tap needs to 'let it go'? That's been their point all along...they need to, but by gawd they won't. Are you listening, Ozzy? Mick? Keef?

They are funny, I must admit, but I never bought any of their records. They're too pre-fab for me, just a quick ha-ha and nothing to bind my attention for longer than the songs' duration. Gotta be just a mood thing with me. Strictly my own two cents, more power to them.
