Something looks odd with that top picture. Like a 1962 John with his beloved Casino, which he did not get until 1966. Maybe it's just the fact that John is
not wearing a suit. It looks like a backstage photo at an early gig; kind of like he's in the room where they usually have the Ladies Tea on Sundays. It does
not look like the studio, and he is not dressed to hit the stage in 1966.

yup.... a 350 with an extra wide neck, it appears. Too bad... the concept is interesting but the details are wrong.... also, John looks a little older than he did in 60-61.

John Lennon Leather Jacket - Hard Rock Cafe - Pittsburgh, PA

John-buodan-jacket2.jpg
The sign on the display case reads:
"This leather jacket was owned by John Lennon and personally auctioned off by him during the "Helping Hand" auction in Philadelphia."

Given the notorious frauds that The Hard Rock Cafe has displayed, who knows if this is real. Personally, I have my doubts that it is THE jacket. Check out the collar..... The one in the glass case is smaller than the real one. .... any thoughts?

I dont know how many leather jackets of this type Lennon had in '61, but the one in the glass case is definitely not the one he wore for the photo shoot at Albert Marrion's Studio on Sunday December 17 1961.

The previous weekend, The Beatles had played the infamous Palais Ballroom, Aldershot show which was
not advertised properly and resulted in only 18 people attending.

28 July 1962 - Saturday
The Majestic Ballroom, Birkenhead

This would be one of Pete Best's last shows as a Beatle. And this is certainly some of his last photos with them.
In just over two weeks, he would be dismissed from his postion as drummer.

Pete played his last gig with The Beatles at The Cavern on 15 August 1962. On 16-17 August, The Big Three's Johnny Hutchinson (the same drummer from the Larry Parnes audition on 10 May 1961) sat in on drums. On 18 August, Ringo made is live debut with The Beatles at Hulme Hall in Birkenhead.
