Pickguardian Bridge pickup cover

Post by jmceachern36 »

A couple of questions for someone who uses the Pickguardian bridge pickup cover (surround?). Do those springs fit back in? Can you install it without the clear plastic piece on the top or do you need shorter screws? Did you get any extra hum after you installed it. Thanks. Joe

I've only ever put one on a c*py, but Tony Dudzik at Pickguardian should be able to put you right..

I use the Pickguardian surround, and screws and springs goes back in when the top clear plate is in use. You may need to shorten the screws if the top plate is not in use. I have not noticed any increased hum.

I had one with the added top cover on my 77 4001. Worked great ! I tried to put one on my 08 4003 without the top cover but it flexed so much it would not lay flat on the surface of the bass. I recommend both parts for a solid installation.
It's too early in the morning to talk about our relationship !

Thanks for the input guys. I went to install it and the holes were stightly off so unfortunatly it wouldn't fit on. I think I'll just keep it as is for now.

How popular are these? Does anyone have any experience? It seems to me most Ric players take the bars off and I have done just the same.

I've got a Blueburst (see profile pic) so I think the silver one would look the best. I'm not sure about the plexiglass but I believe that's optional. I think it might look better than the hole at the moment :)
