Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your very kind words and i'm really glad you like the Rick's.

O.k. i've managed to upload a few pictures of a couple of my "modern" 360's that i've some what personalized to my own taste. I'm not really a big fan of the newer Ricks, i don't particularly like the 24 fret necks or the larger head stocks that they had for a while they just look a bit odd to me, but that's probably just my age . I also know that a lot of people don't care for these two colours but i really like them.

Anyway hope you enjoy the pictures.

Cheers.

Thanks John,

They do make a pretty pair of wall hangers on a nice white wall.

Wow Tony, nice guitars - the fireglo is superb.

The coloured TRCs are a nice touch, very surf!

Welcome!

Very interesting colours on the "modern" 360s - did you do the TRCs yourself?

Cheers,

Hi Wildberry,

Yes i made the TRC's for these two 360's because you can't buy any custom colours from Rick. I just thought they would look much more interesting with matching scratch guards & TRC's

They tend to split opinion 50-50, some people really like them some absolutely hate them.

I have the full size hi res images of the Blueboy & Seagreen if anybody want's them.

Hi Godber,

Thanks for the kind words, Well you've got to try and be a bit individual haven't you? (otherwise i guess we wouldn't all be rickaholics). White guards and TRC are all fine and dandy but these two colours i just felt needed something different.

Cheers

Tony.

Tony: Without question these instruments look very nice.

I feel that it is important to comment here that while making trussrod covers for your own instruments does not violate the letter of the law it is certainly frowned upon by RIC for very good reasons.

For this reason, I would ask that we not explore the making of RIC trussrod covers on the RRF.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

They're real eye-catchers, which is cool, imo :D Job well done, if you ask me!

Interesting to note here (and I'm sure Tony has spotted this already) that, although the acrylic pieces may be back-painted with a paint color that is an exact match for both the Blue Boy and the Sea Green, because of the "light gathering" characteristics of the acrylic, the guards will tend to experience a shift in tint. looking lighter than the paint in some lighting and darker in others.
Our brains compensate for this, so we almost expect to see it.

Nice work, Tony!

Hi Peter,

No worries i completely understand re the TRC policy, i made them purely for use on these two guitars and have no intention of making anymore.

Hi Paul,

Yes your right about the colours they were quite difficult to get right and even now they are not 100% right. They look ok when you paint them and then when you turn the Perspex over it looks a slightly different shade.

I had a few mishaps along the way before getting it right and as the Blueboy is slowly turning minty green i don't really know how far out it will eventually look.

One nice result is that when you polish the edges of the TRC and guards you get a nice neon looking halo around them.

I'm glad you all approve of the results.

Tony :D

Peter, I didn't see him explaining how to make them etc....he was just stating (the obvious) that he had personally made them.
