It's John's bass - two piece neck, ebony fretboard, slim 60's neck profile, AFG finish (information paraphrased from the link in the OP).

A knockout.

I'd say that one has it ALL!! Not to mention that the wall behind has some great looking guitars!

DRATS.....I was hoping this was one of RIC's "one of a kind" ebay auctions. Nice!

I was at RIC a couple of weeks ago, when Ben brought in into JH's office, fresh from the paint shop and ready to buff and assemble. It's astonishing in person...the wood is gorgeous, the flame deep and the color one of Eric's absolute best AFG efforts.

You can bet that John will be playing this at So Cal on the 22nd!

I'd sure like one like this. I showed it to my wife and she wanted to know if I was going to get one. :D

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see any more of these. John Hall mentioned that the fretboard was made from a piece of ebony he has had around for about 45 years. Since ebony is a somewhat endangered species, I doubt RIC will be using it any time soon... :(

It is a thing of beauty though. I'd sure like to see it sometime in person, I'll bet it's far better looking than the pictures!
