Re: Pronunciation issue
Is that a double or single truss rod model?
Re: Pronunciation issue
Sorry to say the the 800001C-FG is indeed a Fackenbocker(Aitch thats for you that one
).You can tell by positioning of the TRC its a good inch from where it normally should be.Furthermore its got a touch of the crownglo that in all probability indicates a refin?
Paul did you do work on this?

Re: Pronunciation issue
Not quite; in fact not at all. Bocker would be bocker in German... I should know, I got a Master in the language... lol... as a linguist there's nothing worse than those tourist pronunciation guides one can get in travel shops...kiramdear wrote:In Germany the "bocker" pronunciation is correct.
German "backer" would be closer to english pronunciation of bucker, except with Umlaut (the dots) as it'd be the same as english backer, then. Anyone still following? :p
Now I want to play my Ric... *goes off in search of plectrum*
Cheers,
Werner

Re: Pronunciation issue
Yeah, I followed that, as I'm sure our German members did. But, Adolph Rickenbacker was Swiss, not German and originally spelled it "Rickenbacher". I'm not sure what part of Switzerland he was from though. I assume the German speaking part of Switzerland generally follows the same pronunciation as Germany (I seem to remember that being the case when I was there 20 some years ago, or at least I could understand them)...Wildberry wrote:Not quite; in fact not at all. Re: Pronunciation issue
My most recent acquisition was a joint effort between Rickenbacker and Moog, a synth bass rarely seen in public, this one's a fretless model.
