4004's anyone

Post by YukonCor55 »

I stopped by POTR today and laid my eyes on 2 of the most gorgeous 4004's I've ever seen. A Trans-Red Cheyenne knocked my socks off but that didn't even come close to the Maple-Glo Laredo I saw next. The wood was so perfectly matched that you could barely see the seam between the neck and the body wings. With the strings over the top it literally looked like the body and neck were of a single piece of wood...of course the headstock sported those walnut wings that absolutely set the whole thing off...STUNNING!! Chris just chuckled as I stood there with my jaw hanging open! I really don't need another bass but if that MG doesn't sell quickly to someone else I'll mortgage the house, sell my plasma, a kidney, whatever to get it!!

Chris is diabolical. Taunting us with all those shiny things like that...it's almost like he knows you'll either walk out with a new axe or a severe case of RAS! "Yeah....he'll be back. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

John, maybe buy one and have it refinished???

I really wish I could buy it - I have two basses on my list I'd love to have - a 4004 4 string and a fretless (could even be a 4004 coverted to fretless). Some day.... :)

I'm still leery about the neck problems people were bringing up (it seemed perpetually) in 2008, but that 2009 I played was so solid...

If Wildwood gets anymore in, I'm heading out on a hunting expedition.
