Meddy's People are on Ebay

Post by winston »

My old band from the 60's Meddy's People are on ebay. It's too bad all of our singles did not sell for this price...................

Obviously I was a Rickenbacker artist.

Hi Scotty,

My first was a 1961 375 FG exactly like the one in my avatar. I bought that from San Franciso Pawnbrokers in Vancouver BC for $175.00 in 1966. My second was a 1964 360/12 FG (NS) That I also bought in 1966. I don't recall what I paid for that guitar.

I currently own 5 Rickenbackers. Three guitars and two basses. They are listed in the registry.

So from a time perceptive were rickenbackers then (a million years ago in the Jurassic period) quite hard to get or were they quite accessible?
Also are you still in contact with the other band members?

 Wow, that's some fair bit of scratch! Pity you wouldn't be pocketing any of that when it sells. It seems the artists usually get the fuzzy end of the lollipop ultimately, unless they are a huge name.

I have a video of Ansel Adams wherein he talks about photographs of his such as Moonrise, Hernandez that he sold for $25 back in the day that was being sold at auction for $48,000. Not a penny to him! This was back in the late '70s to early '80s, so now the selling price may be closer to or perhaps (most likely) over $100,000.

All our original vinyl is present and accounted for. I even have a set in my Wurlitzer Centennial 2000 too.

Brian, we were just talking about Meddy's People on Tuesday and the records you made. Interestingly eerie that one pops up on the 'Bay!

Yeah its funny how the world turns and spits out an auction of one of the records that was a subject of our discussion John. A very strange coincidence.
