Who.. Huh?.. What? Les Paul / 4001 Doubleneck?
Who.. Huh?.. What? Les Paul / 4001 Doubleneck?
OK, so I was browsing google for some information and came across reference to a Gibson Les Paul spliced to a 4001.
I thought, "No Flugelheim'n way. That's got to be some sort of misprint."
Oddly enough, it's not a misprint.
So, what I've found out was that Heinz Fröhling of the German band Schicke Führs Fröhling (or SFF for short) from the late 70s had this bass / guitar monstrosity.
Apparently, on the SFF website a fan makes reference to this thing and also there's a pic of it--but it's in very low detail and B&W.
Does anyone have any info on this instrument or anything similar to this instrument? Like an SG / 360 combo, a Tele / 4001 combo or something?

That's the worst Frankenstein I've ever laid eyes on. Thank God the pic is tiny.

That must have been invented by a chiropractor that needed to increase business.

For the 70's this would have been pretty cool IMHO. Of course, today, it looks a little ridiculous, since 4080's are so easy to come by.
