Does your V have cartoons drawn in the control cavity? Mine has something that looks like a rabbit along with about 4 sets of signatures / initials!
I don't think there are any cartoons, but there are a few scribbles/signatures. I took pix when it was opened up last time. I'll look soon!

What month is yours?

April '92. I've tried to take pix of mine but they don't come out very well. There seems to be an over-abundance of scribbles in mine. They must have been having a party that day!

I found it!

K-Teed - If you added a tug bar to your V63, you wouldn't really need the new RM 1999 reissue, would you? It's simply the best looking Ric bass I've seen.

The value or location excapes my memory though.
He changed the bridge tone circuit cap from .047uF to .1uF, which made the sound while turning the Tone control go bassier quicker with a darker tone overall. I already put the RIC .047uF cap back in.

LOL, Thanks John!

I always wanted to the 4000, 4001, 4002, 4003 thing...but I don't usually pay attention to the #'s and it blew right past me!

Wow....Scary huh?

Jake,

Thanks, but what's this about a RM1999 Reissue?

OK everyone. Dumb question time. I looked inside the v last night and I can't tell what value my pots are. How do you know on these?

It's not a dumb question. I think they should just be coded 500K, 250K, 330K etc. but what do I know?! I'm sure there is some reason for them being coded the way they are.

On the opposite side of the date code will be the value code. 31056 = 500K ohms.

See this thread for the 4 new (Japanese market :( ) limited production (60 of each :( ) models, including the 1999. There will also be a fifth model that I don't think has been announced yet. 4002?! 8)

Hey Everyone!!!!!!

Well....after some REAL planning, and effort........I just this week took delivery of a Left-Handed 4001V63!!!!!!
A HUGE Thank You to Peter over in Britain :)

She is a '91 MG in just about mint condition, and I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!
I remember when I first saw a V63...many years ago. I thought to myself.."WOW!!!!!! What a COOL looking bass" Never dreamed I'd own one.

Whenever I can figure out just how to get a decent picture of it HERE...I will post one or two or three.

I LOVE THIS BASS!!!!!!
