Beautiful pictures. I once saw a performance of Gamelan music in Washington. The gracefulness of the music and the people helped melt away my original awkwardness and I was able to float along. I was stone cold sober too. What variety of Gamelan were you performing?

What a beautiful affair! It must be a great privilege for you to take part in such an offering. I can only imagine how lovely the music was.

Thanks, folks...Brian, the orchestra in those photos is our 'big rig', the gamelan semaradana. We also have a smaller one called a gamelan angklung, which is used in Bali primarily for religious ceremonies. I'm also a member of Catur Eka Santi, a four-piece 'subset' of Tunas Mekar that plays the music of the wayang kulit, or Balinese shadow play.
