Ron, if Paul hasn't answered your question, the "personalized" guard is a service that Pickguardian offers (for a slight upcharge, of course!)

Here's the link: http://www.pickguardian.com/pickguardian/Signature.html

Ron's got it right. Pickguardian for the custom "signature edition." He does it by first printing the lettering in black on the back of a clear guard, then backpaints it with color of choice. I think mine was the "vintage gold" and he used that same paint to color the standard white TRC to match.

I like the fact that the COY's are a little dash of special. They stand out in the sea of FG's, JG's, MG's and MID's. That to me makes them unique and desirable.

Take the AFG 660's. Never to be done again. With the gold TRC and pick guard covers for me they are as right as rain! I don’t dig all the COY colors (blueboy) and some didn’t like the AFG as being too over the top with the fret boards being ambered as well. What I do know is that when other people see my FG's and JG's they go - ahhhh neat, those are Ricky's. When the BBR and AFG come out they go - OH WOW, were did you get that!

Tell them that they're not Ricky's--they're yours.

But I am Ricky...well I once was until I was about ten. Now it is just Rick - or Richard if I am in trouble.
OR, is it just that I punctuate (and spell) like I am ten year old? Was it suppose to be Rickys' - or Ricks.
I don't know, now I'm so confused.

Rick, Paul has a thing about people calling RIcks Rickys. The instruments. Usually accompanied by a photo of Desi Arnez in character. "Lucy, I'm Home!!"

Y'know, the ultimate name for somebody on this forum might be Rick Dickson, The Ultimate Rickenbacker Packer. Then you could say "Cool Ricky." And he'd say "Yes, I am."

Oh it's getting late, I can tell.

I remember now a similar chiding on one of my earliest post on the RRF.
But I think I got it now: Ricky's an actor and Rickenbackers are guitars.
Thanks, I was confused. I am no longer.

Just remember -

RICKY is a little boy's name.
RIC is the name of a company.
That leaves RICK as the only acceptable shortened form for RICKENBACKER.
