Register Question

I tried a general forums search which brought me 96 pages with no answer... inside here I couldn't find it either.

I got AdamG's 480 - he added it to the register (http://www.rickresource.com/register/in ... celebrity=), but I'd like to re-submit it, with pictures of the current state - it's now in a different location than Scotland and soon will be a custom coloured "Creamglo" - is there a way to transfer register records or should I simply submit another record? Thanks!

Sidenote: I submitted two pictures for the record of my 360 - how long before they show? Were they rejected? I didn't get any notice except pictures are moderated... thanks once more!

Werner: Please go to your "My Records" like in the Rickenbacker Register. You need to be signed on the RRF to do this. You can then use the edit function to change the information about the instrument and upload photos.

Tried it a second ago, but the record AdamG created for the 480 when it was still his guitar I can't edit.

As for photos: I uploaded a picture to my 360's record for headstock and free image last week (or maybe even longer ago?) and they're definitely not showing. Is there a size limit? I simply uploaded the full size image...

Werner: Please try your "My Records" again and let me know how you make out. Please let me know the dimensions of your photos in pixels. 1280 X 1280 pixels is the maximum.

A-ha! (No, not the band ). The pictures I uploaded are 3072x2304

Oh, one final thing - the state/province list for the Netherlands in the register is full of errors - it lists a whole lot of minor cities and omits a bunch, like most in fact, of the provinces. PM me if you want a correct list

You can upload much bigger pictures to the register (much much bigger than 1280 X 1280 and even much much bigger than 3072x2304),
The 1280x1280 limitation is only in the forum.

Please feel free to send me a list of correct provinces and if you can - the right province for the already registered instruments so I could rectify this issue.

I'll make a list of all the provinces and one with the cities that are currently in the list referenced to the province they're in.

Fixed it,
It wasn't the image size as it was the file size which was limited to 2M...
I changed it and you may now upload larger images.
However - the image isn't that sharp anyway, if they are all a bit blurry like this one - I suggest scaling it down to 2 or 4 megapixel so it would still look great and save disk space.

Yeah, they're grainy as well... the apartment's too dark, I took that headstock picture when the sun was shining right into the apartment. Or maybe I'm a lousy photographer?

Doesn't look too grainy for ISO 125 on a compact camera.
If the room is too dark - do an outdoor session
You have shot the image at a wide open aperture, most lenses (especially zoom lenses) are pretty "soft" wide open and have lots of artifacts (such as CA, etc...), you should close the aperture at least 1 or 2 stops down if you want ultra sharp pictures. but for that - you need more light, so go outside
This will also enable you to expose less than 1/40 (the exposure time you had in this picture) which might cancel motion blur (I am not sure if it affected anything at this focal length though...)

A most important ingredient to sharp photography is something most don't even think about!
