No, my luthier made 4 frets fretboard from similar looking wood and we glued the addenum using duble side gluing tape, so this modification is reversible.

What does it sound like, solo neck pickup playing on the frets right above it?

Zdenek, I see in your avatar that your Harleybacker's headstock is checker-bound. I'd love to see a bigger pic if you can post one. :D

The neck pick up was lowered, so not huge sound is present :wink: ,
Usually I use bridge pick-up only, or combination of both PUs with volume on neck PU slightly down. The result is similar, like longer distance between neck PU and strings, so I can get my tone without problems.

Thank You Andy. Stan made couple pieces of extension, survived just this one, because the most problematic part was the 21 fret with hair amount of wood around, to use CNC machine for this work brought poor result, so I made the fine finishing work slowly, using Dremel tool ,sanding paper and dirty words :lol:
