Come up the stairs... An old folk tune
Come up the stairs... An old folk tune
Heres and old song written by Anon Trad.
Doh! but that is one way to get replys.. lose the link!
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... tent=music
Sort of a demo, but lots of fun.
Sorry no Rickenbackers but it has:
Bodhran (look it up)
SG Junior
Waterstone 12 string bass
Korg Lambda ES-50
Roland JX-3P (which I had to finish the song with as my es-50 died towards the end..
The production Is a bit warm but should work well on desktop speakers.

Eden must be changing the title to the missing link.
Sorry I could not resist Eden. Seriously, I would like to hear the tune also.

I love it Eden. Very very cool. It's brilliant in fact the way you have woven it together. The new and the traditional really work well together.

ahhh the 'missing link'... now I hear what I was missing. Cool blend Eden.... a little warm as you say, but a nice little ditty non the less. Bet a Ric 12 would have brightened it up a little..

A good Idea Tom! However I don't have a Rickenbacker 12. (It went years ago)
I do have a Epiphone G-1275 with upgraded pickups that plays rather well so that might be just the trick.
Plus a little remixing....
I'll get back to you shortly..

Re: Come up the stairs... An old folk tune
Eden: I find this performance brilliant. What a great rendition of a traditional song. To my ear, it has a sort of Kinks feel to it. I love the manner in which you have mixed the old with the new such as other artists have done, dare I say Runrig. The blending of acoustic and electric is nicely done and the harmony in the chorus is a wonderful touch. Using the 12 string over the melody in parts is very effective. You had my attention the whole way through. A great story and and top notch rendition. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Eden, be tempted... maybe negotiate payment or rental fee in beers or some such novelty (you will have to give it back). Or mayhaps initiate a Stralia colab/jam... Again - cool tune.
Re: Come up the stairs... An old folk tune
I really like the Celtic/Rock combination you have going here. Rather reminds me in a very general sense of the groups John Renbourne was in. Well done.
