I think they said it was at a pawn shop or somethen but talk about your heart dropping to your stomach. How the heck did he get tipped off!!!!!!! LASJFILJDKL!!!!!!!!
Before I felt a little sorry for the guy trying to sell it, as he may not have known it was stolen and was about to be out some money.

Now I don't feel bad for him at all.

Seems like a dumb move -- police know he has it, he tries to get rid of it ... still, no fun for you to have to sweat through all of this. Hopefully you get your bass back in your hands soon, and now the police can put more pressure on this guy to find out about the kids who sold it to him.

Either two things I think is goin on, either he knew it was stolen so he took it down when he got tipped off or He was tipped off it was stolen and didnt want to try to sell stolen goods.

Hopefully when he found out it was stolen he took the auction down and it waiting for the police to pick it up. Most people (even in the pawn shop biz) are decent people. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.

Just my humble opinion, but for these reasons, once it was located, I think would have been better to keep what's going on with it, including the fact that it was found on ebay OFF the forum. I hope it all works out well and get your 4001 back soon, Jake.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Absolutely true. I may have misunderstood the earlier message. Let's hope he's doing the right thing, for everyone's sake.

I concur. I believe in the theory of a benevolant universe...sure there are some bad apples out there, but most of us wish well to others.
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

UPDATE!

They found the Ricky at a Pawn shop in Buckley. The Idiot pawned it for $160.... C'mon now he could've done a little bit of research and made a grand more, what a Idiot..

Anyways The Pawn Shop wont let it go unless 1. The police get a search warrant or 2. I go pay the $160.

The police told me that they can get a search warrent tommorow (which is their friday) or if not then by monday and said the pawn shop should just bite the 160 so Ill hopefully I can post a picture of me reunited with my ric tomorrow afternoon (Or Friday!). Also I asked if they can try to sell the it and they said no which is reasurring.

$160... What a creep!

The quest is almost over!

Let me get this straight, the ebay seller pawned it? I deleted that listing from my watched items too soon as I though this saga was almost at an end, does anyone know his ebay ID? The rest of this Ric forum should be warned not to deal with that guy.

We're with 'ya Jake!! :)

I'm wondering if something shouldn't be mentioned to Ebay about the seler and what went on.... So the pawn shop guy knows that it is stolen property?

I'm guessin the dude pawned it the day after it was stolen and the police report wasnt in file so when they looked up the serial (If they did) it showed fair game. They lost money to the theif so thats why they arent giving it up, thats how I see it

A $160 loss for the pawn shop seems a VERY reasonable cost of doing business. I change my opinion of them, now that the benefit of doubt is no longer in question. They should hand it over and take the hit. After all there is risk in their business (every business has risk.) I think they are in bad taste for not turning it over right away.

Doesn't matter, Jake, it is stolen goods. They CAN"T keep it. You will have it soon. The pawn shop won't dare move it now that they know the police know they have it. They're just hoping not to loose the $160. Their problem. They got greedy when the thief only asked or agreed to only the $160 - that should have raised all kinds of red flags for them.

Agreed. My only concern is that if the pawn shop owner is a mean spirited individual that he might not return the bass in the condition he got it in. Are there pawn shop rules/laws about such things? I mean, the seller posted pics, so if there's suddenly a big key'd scratchmark in the nice burgendy finish or some busted parts, couldn't you blame the pawn shop owner- he posted pics to show the condition it was in- and I'm sure that even though he's retracted the ad on Ebay, that such things are archived on Ebay for legal reasons such as this? I wouldn't normally even suggest such behaviour, but the pawn shop ower should REALLY turn over the name of the creep who pawned it and hand the bass back, untouched, to its rightful owner. Given the fact he's asking for either a search warrant or $160, that just tells me the guy's really slimey.

If you don't get cooperation from the pawn shop owner I'd suggest your band writing a few songs about the event and letting the public know he deals in hot merchandise.
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.
