Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
...Dan's got a '60s 12er that's undergoing restoration in my shop, as well. It's received a neck reset and is soon to be painted in original orangey AFG. It'll be a sweet player.
That makes 3 projects for you, Dan, including the JG 330 Light Show conversion that's having the wiring updated right now...

Congrats Dan! Another example of Paul's amazing work!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Thanks guys, I've absolutely got some exciting projects going on with Paul W. right now. Sometimes the Universe aligns just right.
Rich, just to clarify, these project guitars are not new acquisitions for me though.
The 620 AFG is an early one that I've had for some time, I just really thought it would look cool with the full width crushed pearl inlays, especially after Rickenbacker went back to FWI. I missed that by a year. I e-mailed Paul about what it would take to do that and he had me send it up. I think it was in November of last year.
The 1965 360-12 has needed a neck re-set since I bought it a few years ago. I got a good price on it because it needed work. I brought it to SCARF last year and showed it to Paul in person so he could give me his opinion on what it needed. I just finally got around to sending it up there in January.
Lastly, I got the 330 LS conversion about a year ago too, but it is based on a 2007 330 that I bought new from Pick of the Ricks. Paul's doing an update on the electronics. I guess timing is everything.
I'm just doing some fixing up and personalizing of guitars I already own since I'm lucky enough to have gotten to meet Paul, who happens to be great at these types of things.
Anyway, in reference to new acquisitions, I did buy one of those MF 360 sale guitars. I'll see it when I get home tonight...................who knows what I might ask Paul to do to that

The 'crushed pearl inlay' job on Dan's 620 is fabulous! I would normally say that I am really jealous, but Paul is working on my 370 doing the same thing. I can't wait to see it and, Paul, I really do commend your most excellent work.

Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Your 370 was shipped earlier this week, Steve. Good to go.
Here are two more that I finished for SCARF display.
One bass and one guitar. A '72 4001 and a '90 370WB (talk about rare!)
The 4001 was done in authentic matte Autumnglo. It's kind of cool to see one as it must've been when new, without the glossy wear patches they get...

The 370 was originally a nicely-aged FG, but it checked in shipping and the owner likes Monte Brown, so Monte Brown it was:

Now it's time for some BLUE stuff...and lots of smaller projects, too, few of which ever get posted.

Neat work!!
I can't recall seeing a WB 370 with hi gains. Not saying they don't exist. I've just never seen one.

Wow, fantastic, fantastic. Montezuma Brown is right up there with Burgundyglo as my fave Rickenbacker colour.
And that bass is just....utterly perfect. I've never seen that finish before, it's like staring into espresso crema. Quality.
Amazing stuff Paul, amazing.

As far as I can tell, it was 100% ex-factory. The solder joints of pickup cable braid to pot cases looked undisturbed until I disturbed them.Scastles wrote:Neat work!!

Tony you took the words right out of my mouth. That is fanatastic work Paul. Very nice indeed.

Those brown ricks look spectacular Paul, as usual. Anything white with checkered binding around the corner?

Chipping away at it, Mark, so to speak. Very close!

I am but a mere mortal, I stand with awe and can only dream of owning and playing such an artistic restoration.
