My favorite RIC is a MG 370/12 RM (with compressor) Limited Edition, #975 of 1000. The onboard compressor nails the Byrds' classic jangle better than any stand-alone compressor I've tried, including the JangleBox (original model).

My overall top 3 guitars are:

1. RIC 370/12 RM.

2. Epiphone Elitist Casino (Tobacco Sunburst) with top-of-the-line, made in USA, Bigsby B7 Vibrato Tailpiece and roller bridge.

3. Taylor 614c acoustic with aftermarket Fishman Ellipse electronics (combination in-body mic and under-saddle piezo, blendable).

There's probably a tie for third with my 340 6-string Montezuma Brown with hot Toasters in the middle and bridge positions, and a High-gain in the neck position. This guitar also has gold guards, gold TRC and oven Knobs........plays as good as it looks.

My fave Ric is my 1998 FG 330, a look and tone unmatched by any Rickenbacker I've had the pleasure to see/play.

Top 3 guitars in reverse order....

3. LP Gold Top.
2. Gibson 335 Block.
1. This little fella.....

Pound for pound (under£150!) one of the best guitars ever made.

A special mention at number 4 must go to the (white)VOX teardrop 12 string. Another iconic giant.

Well you tend to remember your first love the best. Also it is gone - lost in a 1991 fire, so it can never come home again. Hopefully I will find another one of the same vintage. Mine was one of the last batch of 620's that still had the kluson tuners - within a few months they switched over to the grovers and then a year later to the schallers. The tiny little details like the model 620 TRC and the louder High Gain's are also fondly missed.

So I would have to say my favorite was my 1982 jg 620 serial number VD1084 with its small headstock and kluson tuners.

These days the guitar I play the most is my 1977 jg 320 - which survived that same fire - so it shares a kinship with the ones I lost.

My favorite Ric is my 370/12.
Smoothest guitar I ever played...my old Ric 360 BB...I hate myself for ever letting it go!
My favorite Non-Ricks:
'52 Fender Tele RI
' 57 Fender Strat RI
' 72 Fender Mustang (vintage)
Gretsch Historic Streamliner G3160...Cat's Eye Soundholes rock!!
I'm also thinking really hard about getting an Eastwood Airline MAP in Surf Green. It's so Art Deco Kitschy it's almost laughable but for some reason I'm drawn to it...

The following guitars are three of my favorites: First up is my Gretsch 1966 Nashville. I bought it as a high school graduation present--to me from me. Boy! Was my mother mad because I had spent my entire summer job pay, $385.00, on a guitar. I still have this Arizona-Sunset orange beauty after all these years. My second favorite was a 1966 Ric twelve-string Jetglo 330. The sound was sharp, the action was smooth, and the neck incredibly thin. Sadly, this beauty drowned in a basement flood, damaged beyond repair. The Gretsch survived. The third guitar may be third on the list, but it ranks first in my musical love-life. She is truly a knockout--a 2001 Mapleglo 330 Ric twelve-string with toasters. Everything about her, the grain of the wood, the blinding shine of the finish, and that jingle-jangle sound, has made me the envy of the guys and girls with whom I jam.
