For Rickenbacker specific:

1) The Who- I Can't Explain --- there are two excellent 12 string leads (the first being the best of them).

2). The Beach Boys- I Get Around---I don't think it was recorded with a 12er in the studio, but live Carl Wilson played that killer riff on his Ric 12.

I'm not positive it's a 12-string as opposed to multi-tracking or some other studio trickery, but "September Gurls" by Big Star is a favorite, and it sure sounds like there's a 12 on there.

I don't think SG is a 12. Sounds like a couple very bright strats. Good approximation of the jangle though.

Nice twelve and six string pairings in the opening section, but my favorite stuff is Rutherford's 7/8 twelve strumming thoughout the final section/keyboard solo...oh yeah, and the repetitive pattern during the fadeout...it's all great:

"As sure as eggs is eggs..."
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Susanna uses a Ric 660/12 when she performs the track live. Before 2008, she played it on her '80s 620/12.

An outstanding twelve-string lick is the opening for the Hollies' Look through and Window, by Tony Hicks.

Thanks to whojamfan for mentioning The Move! Shazam is really like no other record in being so pop and so heavy, one of my all-time favorites! The extensive use of the (Fender) Electric XII shows how great electric 12s are when cranked up. Something you just don't hear enough of, if ya ask me.
