Hows it going, decided to post this little recording to see what you guys think. I'm playing to a 10cc song, its just by ear, and was monitoring with a lot of latency so I apologize when I strike too early/too late. Anyway, what do you think? I know theres a dead note during a sustain hah, otherwise what do you think?

I like it, never having heard this tune before. The tone is nice and vintage warm. Great bottom end. The way you're panning Left-Right so much kind've gets on my nerves though.

oh I just had a chorus on it, it helps me hear it better when using headphones. About the bottom- do you find it to match the rest of the tone OK? I find it sounds a bit different from the other notes, it doesnt' have the smooth wooooom sound but more of a growl.

Huh, on first listen it all sounded pretty cohesive to me. Not sure. Nothing jumped out at me in a bad way so I wouldn't tweak anything much.
I was referring to stereo panning... you mean you didn't do any of that??? The bass hops from right to left to right again in several spots.

Its a chorus effect- it just phases back and forth.cassius987 wrote:Huh, on first listen it all sounded pretty cohesive to me. Not sure. Nothing jumped out at me in a bad way so I wouldn't tweak anything much.

Re: Checking out mah bass tone
Maybe you could convert it into a mono track, then, and it wouldn't be an issue but you'd still have the effect.

Very cool line - sounds like something Jamiroquai would do. (Maybe they're 10cc fans, too)
I agree that the panning is distracting, and to my ear the bass doesn't really fit in with the rest of the mix, but making a perfect production match wasn't the point, I gather. Very well played, I thought. I didn't really notice any glaring tempo fluctuation; sounded pretty solid to me.
