You're welcom, Miles. All I can say is the '98 body does feel more comfortable played seated and standing (like you, I play at the lower than waist level when standing). However, the '86, with her neck thinner and narrower, is like 1/3 pound lighter than the '98 so that slightly makes up for comfortability.

As for sound, the '86, with her slimmer neck and 7-screw tailpiece, is more twangy, clanky and resonant than the '98 when played unplugged. The hotter pickups in the '98 makes her sound fatter, with more sonic weight than the '86 when played through an amp or DI.
