Re: More rickenfakers
OOOHHH I saw one yesterday in GC Concord, CA. I don't what they are trying to do there at Schecter, but they made a bass that is very similar to a Ric. It was ugly and I was distraught when I saw the Schecter name tag on the thing. Shame on Schecter. I hope the hell Ric sued them and won. It was a terrible knockoff of one of the coolest guitar manufacturers around.

Re: More rickenfakers
Ric, can you give us a link to the instrument in question? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I've seen it too, both in a local GC, and in a discussion here. It is interesting but I don't think the Schecter bass of which you speak is actually an infringement, to the best of my knowledge. I actually kind of liked it!
The guitar pics you posted above may be a different matter.

Re: More rickenfakers
The top one looks like an overweight lp junior, and the bottom one just looks like pure garbage. Well in all fairness, they both look like pure garbage.

But if they answer here, you won't have to tell...shamustwin wrote:Does anyone here collect fakers? I won't tell.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I'm tired of these, too, but I also think they are a valuable educational tool.

Gary, that listing is still up, but now it is "nothing," described as "nothing," and has a starting bid of .99!
