Scotty: We can all count on you to pick the finest entertainment. Thanks for documenting that the Fall play Rickenbackers. I would never arrived at this conclusion from listening to the track. Another example of the versatility of the instruments we love.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Re: The Fall
The Ric player is Brix Smith, Mark E Smiths ex wife.
Whilst she was married to Smith and played in the band, The Fall certainly had a more 'pop' feel about them, as can be winessed with their cover of the Kinks 'Victoria'.
Not sure if they still have a Ric player in the band now that Brix has split with mark and left the band.

Here's a little true story for you.....
Damon Gough (AKA Badly Drawn Boy) was driving through Manchester when a drunk guy jumped into the back of his car. The drunk had thought it was a taxi and demanded to be driven home, so seeing who the 'client' actually was, Gough obliged and drove him home. The drunk was of course, Mark E Smith.
When Gough got back to his own home he saw something on the back seat of his car. It was a full set of false teeth. I think he still has them to this day.

Rob: Thanks, a number of people would give their eye teeth to tell that story.

Re: The Fall
The Shapes supported The Fall back in the day. Miserable buggers they were.

Re: The Fall
I seem to remember Brix had a Rick (JG 325?) on the cover of her single 'Incense and Peppermints'. I loved a lot of the Fall's stuff so long ago- crucial listening in the early '80s for my crowd.
