The prices on the lists would have been way out of my reach (I should say my parents reach).
About that time my dad bought me my first "real" guitar, used, for under 200 bucks 'cause new ones were so expensive. 'Twas a '64 Strat.

Wow. Very interesting imformation with regard to amplifiers.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

If I dig it up I will post it. scrolling through posts very few guitars knock me out but I got to tell ya John Koeing 350 makeover does it for me. Wow! Now I can see why I only paid $175.00 for my used 1961 FG 375 OS (or Deluxe Model as they apparently called it) in 1965. It was probably what it was worth on the used market at the time. I thought I had made one heck of a deal at the time.

That price list is so cool. Thanks for posting that Ron.

Cool, indeed. $498 for a 4001. That's why I didn't get one. We weren't making great money back then and it went to rent and food. "71 was the year for 21-frets, so can you imagine??

Not to be too much of an econogeek, but don't forget the inflation calculator     :

Obviously, given the difference between the then and now price due to inflation and current retail price, there are other increased cost of production factors involved other than mere inflation, but I won't put anyone to sleep naming them.

Thanks for finding that, Ron!

Now I need to look in my reference books ... a model 470?!

There is a thread about them, because someone here on the Forum bought some on eBay!

I just think it's amazing how much variety there is. The fact that you could buy Shure mics from them, and they listed every model, even the ones they never made then...I mean are there any 3000s from 1971!? It's just so weird that some of these things were even available...very cool find!

I am rather confused by the F-series with vibrato option. were they actually produced on the 2nd F-version?
