AND a White 4001C64 with ebony fretboard and modern tuners already installed. Wonder what the story is there!? We know there is no "custom shop" at RIC, but "specials" do pop up now and then. Love to get a shot of that for the book.

What's with all the Montys in the background, too?
Also note: the FG basses in the front have the right-way (v63 style) headstock, while the white bass has the wrong-way (c64 style) headstock.

Very nice pictures posted on that NotCot site.
I share the enthusiasm expressed for seeing these rare models - and I hope Paul gets his pictures for his upcoming Ric Bass book !!

From the looks of them, those are Shinsedo 60th Anniversary 310s in Monty Brown.jakeox wrote:What's with all the Montys in the background, too?

That's definitely ebony on the two white instruments; nothing else looks like that.

Probably the 310s and 1999s for the Japanese run.jakeox wrote:What's with all the Montys in the background, too?

Whoops. I was aware of the Japanese 1999RM-reissue (and figured that's what those were), but didn't know that one of the guitars in that reissue series was MB.

Not only white, but black trim as well.

Re: Bodies Everywhere: Great Factory tour shots
I went digging around, and found this ad from Ikebe's online site. The write-up points out that the headstock is "normal," that it has a fingerrest, and that it's due around September/October, but could come out later...
Also, the title of the ad says that it is a Japanese-dealers-only 60th anniversary commemorative special limited edition model - whew!
