New Guitar Day for Jake
Okay, so here's a little story for you all...
In February of this year, a guitar of mine was no more, a 1998 model 1997. I loved that guitar, but needed a replacement after the accident. I replaced the guitar with a three pickup 1997SPC, but later became frustrated with the middle pickup, and it became more and more of a problem. I later sold the guitar out of frustration, wondering how if I was ever going to get a two pickup beauty back...
Until today. Forumite Ron O'Keefe sold me his 1986 model 1997 last week, and it arrived today. This guitar has a neck as slim as my '89 SPC, but has all the goodness of my '98 two pickup. This is simply, hands down the best guitar I've ever owned, and I'll be extra careful with this one.
Here are some pics, I'm gonna go play.
PS -- For those of you wondering, I do plan to restore the '98 1997, but not right away. I'll get to it. I will not let a pile of rubble sit as rubble, when it can be art.
PPS -- The reason the V64 is not in the shots is because it's out getting new strings. There will be pics of the two fireglo beauties together when the V64 gets back.

That's cool Jake! You are fortunate to find another nice 1997.

Re: New Guitar Day for Jake
Great news, Jake! Glad the 1997 arrived safely and that you are pleased with it. Of all the 1997 RIs listed on the Register, your 1986 has the earliest date.
Also -- dig that form-fit case! It doesn't get any better!

RRF members helping one another. It does not get better than that. Congratulations on your new Rickenbacker, Jake.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
