4003S/5 - Bad Economy Edition

Post by Tarrbot »

Well, this economy has officially been depressing. Michigan unemployment has been above 15% for the last several months. (since July).

The housing market is horrible, the stock market has been the worst in a generation or three and to make it all worse, the .gov thinks the country can take paying for a comprehensive health care package when we can't even make our car and house payments.

Anyway, before this gets off into soap box material (which hopefully it hasn't yet), I thought I'd show you all that around my house we try to do our part to fit into the blues.

I present to you, the 1986 4003S/5 BPB edition (Brown Paper Bag).

Notice, the hand crafted pickguard that looks down and out, the missing screws, the paper bag look of freshly pulled plexi paper.

It's pristine.

It's primo.

It's primitive.

It's an up and coming bass from an era when looking good was all the rage.

And for the mega-low price of $3,158.48, you too can purchase BPB edition hardware so that your instruments can sing the blues along with the rest of us.

Seriously, though. I thought the brown paper bag look almost looked like DCM gold.

... from a distance. :P

Yeah, sometimes my sense of humor is out there... way out there.

It made sense to post that here instead of elsewhere.

That's just a template I was using to create a pickguard that had brown paper bag colored paper on it.

It just struck me that it looked decent with just that paper on it.
