show your custom bass!!!

Re: show your custom bass!!!
The bass in question that I just wired has a high gain in the bridge position. I don't hear anything odd going on and the bass in question will be using the ROS option most of the time, so I will leave it as is. Thanks for your info CJ!

Re: show your custom bass!!!
Kinda new here! Here's my custom rick. It started life as a 2007 4003. Pretty neat! A few dings here and there never hurt. Its my only bass so it gets played a lot.

Also the amp I rebuilt, why not? Its a late 70's Bassman that I use for bass (go figure?). I redid the circut to better suit bass, new transformer for more headroom, and some flashy stuff (nameplates and plastic stuff and a neat 1950's green jewel). The normal circut ("Normal" as opposed to bass
) was redone to be hotter, much hotter! Into distortion... Its pretty fun stuff. Plus a custom cab with a weber speaker. It sounds perfect!

Hope the pictures work.

Welcome to the forum! Nice bass, cool mods to the amp too! You'll have to provide some details on the amp mods for us electronics geeks!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Welcome, Mike!
Nice mods to the 4003; I am curious why you did not add a vintage style pickguard to compliment the 1/2" toaster position and finger rest?

Re: show your custom bass!!!
Thanks all! I've been debating whether or not to get a guard made that is longer (vintage style). Might complete the look I guess? On the other hand, its unique as it is. Only thing about that is I'll need to make a new hole where I cant cover it up if I decide to change back. Lots of contemplating...jps wrote:Welcome, Mike!

As for the mods to the amp, I can get into more detail after I get home from work... oops, yeah I'm supposed to be working....!
Edit* Maybe some more pictures too?
