Congats Shane, she's stunning! Probably one of the most stunning Fireglo finishes I've seen, and the flame just looks the business! I love the fact both my 4004's are so light, but not in sound.

This 4004 is definitely not "light in sound", having played it myself. If you aren't happy with yours try having them set up or see if you can return them... no point sitting around being unhappy with your purchase.

Or me. Post-playtest, I have really been jonesing for one. CJ's is probably the best example I've seen, in terms of my own personal taste, or else Woody's. Both fine, fine examples, at least based on the photographs.

Well, at long last we've made it back home !!!!

We all arrived safe, well and intact, courtesy of Qantas.

Again, thank you all for your kind comments, and to John for not only babysitting the bass but providing a personal delivery service to our hotel. The Bombay Sapphire, Bundy Rum and Vegemite was the least I could do.

It's funny how Vegemite generates all sorts of responses. Personally, I had it once about 50 years ago, and have never had the courage to try it since. But everyone deserves the chance to try one of the worlds great culinary delights.

I can't comment on the Bombay Sapphire, but the Bundaberg Rum, with some Coke (A Cola)!!!!, is a very pleasant way to dull the senses !!!!

The bass looks beautiful, and is surprisingly light. I haven't put it through an amp yet, but will take it down to the local music shop to show the guys and try a out few amps. I am keen to see their reaction.

In the meantime I gotta practice.

BTW we had great holiday, I'll post some pics etc when I get organised.

That is one gorgeous bass, Shane! We'll have to have a Melbourne gathering soon so we can all check it out, mate!!

Glad you fixed JB up with some appropriate compensation. Did you tell him to try the 'Bundymite sandwich'?

In case anybody's wondering what a 'Bundymite sandwich' is it's two Vita Wheat biscuits with Vegemite between - butter (not margarine) is optional. The sandwich is then dipped in a tumbler of Bundaberg rum and eaten - dipped in the rum between each bite. When the sandwich is finished the remaining Bundy is topped up with coke and..... down the hatch!!

It's definitely an acquired taste.... sort of like salt on cantaloupe!!

Rum & coke??? What a way to ruin the great taste of rum!!! Of course, I've never had Bundy rum...
