Desert Gold with Black Trim

Post by epitreture »

Does anyone know if any of these were ever made? Thanks.

I saw a bass with that combination once, that's it.

Thanks John! BTW, that blueboy you've got coming looks incredible!

I assume that "green" was a deliberate choice of words. John is hoping that the Blueboy is, in fact, blue not green. If it's green, he will be blue.

I've gotta say, I'm a big fan of black trim, and it looks particularly good with Desert Gold!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Really sweet looking! Imagine if all the hardware were also black. That would REALLY be something!

I could do that.....put all black hardware on....but it's a lot of work. Do you
think it would add to the value??

I don't know about adding value, but you'd sure be adding to the appearance of it.

Hmmm . . . lessee . . . black "R" TP and bracket, black bridge cover and plate, black strap buttons, tuners and TRC -- that IS a lot of work.

Then it would look something like this, no?:
330 BH BT 92
330 BH BT 92
You just have to imagine that the MG in this photo is DG . . . and no dark wood showing on the headstock . . . not too far of a stretch.

Here's one that was sold years ago on Mike Parks Rickenbacker Page:

And another one:

Saw a few DG/BTs at a guitar show once... Knoxville or Columbus, can't recall. :) I thought the BT option was already gone -but I was wrong.

They look great.

I'm not sure about the black appointments on the DG. Now mapleglo or Red with black trim is really sharp!
