I was wondering, is this a solid body, or does it have a wooden back like a 325?

Yeah, they are some of coolest guitars ever, I think. How about a matching pair:beatlefreak wrote:I don't know, but I would love to have one of those one day. I think they are so cool looking!

No offense meant by the following nitpicking:I was looking at Grahams site, and while most of the combo 600's have a back plate and some degree of hollowing-out, the cloverfield green one does not:

Thanks for the clarification! What differentiated the 600 from the 800?jsm610 wrote:No offense meant by the following nitpicking:I was looking at Grahams site, and while most of the combo 600's have a back plate and some degree of hollowing-out, the cloverfield green one does not:
- It isn't a combo 600 (combo 800)
- It isn't Cloverfield green (Turquoise blue)

A combo 600:
Visually the 800 has those two switches, the 600 has one. From a function perspective, the 800 has 'two pickups' in there; 9 tones. The 600 has a lonely 'ol single coil horseshoe...Thanks for the clarification! What differentiated the 600 from the 800?
The combo 800, pictured first, was from 1957. It has two pickup coils underneath the horseshoe.8mileshigher wrote:A couple of questions:
What year of manufacture or circa are those turqouise beauties pictured ?
When did they evolve from the single Horseshoe to the dual pickup configuration ?
Is this photo, the green guitar is Cloverfield Green, the blue(ish) guitar is Turquoise Blue. (those are the color names from the catalogs)Does anyone know the name/code of this paint color? I've heard it called Cloverfield Green and Turquoise.
No.is it exactly the same as the modern Ric Turquoise?
Thanks for the great photo. So the combo 800 and 850 above, are they both Turquoise Blue? Did the combos ever come in Cloverfield Green?jsm610 wrote:Is this photo, the green guitar is Cloverfield Green, the blue(ish) guitar is Turquoise Blue. SureThanks for the great photo.
The combo 800 looks to me to be the original Turquoise Blue. The 850 was originally natural, and put back together and refinished in the early 80's in a Turquoise that resembled the original Turquoise Blue. The 600 is original Turquoise Blue.So the combo 800 and 850 above, are they both Turquoise Blue?
Combos 600, 800, and 850 - no. Not per the catalogs, and I've never seen one. I guess one should never say never...Did the combos ever come in Cloverfield Green?
I haven't seen a good version of Cloverfield and/or Turquoise Blue on a refin, but I'm sure it's mostly due to painters not having an original finish to compare it too...And do you know of a close color available today?
