my jan. '70 was the 13th made for that month in mapleglo. i dubbed it "crawlspacebass" cause that's were it was found...under a house ! threw the case out as it was green with mould and the clear coat was eaten away by mildew but did not harm the wood. of course a 21 fretter.

teeder...yes, i still have this bass. it is all sanded and ready for laquer. (it's been ready for laquer since 1985,lol !)the grovers were toast, and i've always hated center punching the rivets on the back time and time again to keep the cases together, so i put original klusons on it. had the grovers on my MD '73 deluxe and put up with them. have 4001-s knobs on it as well as my HJ '68 deluxe. i've thinned out the herd of 8 down to 3. my '64 is my pawn shop prize, my '68 has a really thin neck due to a 1/2 thickness fretboard which is original that i got for $300.00 plus a conn strobe tuner, and my '70 due to the xtra fret. that one cost me $250.00 in 1984 ! i purchased a '75 4001 off ebay last year that will be a donor for a top secret project i've been mulling over for over 30 years ! no...not the rutherford doubleneck.

all my ricks were purchased in canada when i resided there other than last years ebay purchase '75 and my first rick which was a MJ '73 geddy model in 1977. that one was $300.00 brought to me from connecticut to new brunswick by my uncle.

Great basses and a story to go along with each makes it extra special! I had to pay a "little" more than that for my 21 fretter, but those prices are in line with what I had to give for my old Jazz Bass.
