Jason, most likely you will not need boots, perhaps lightweight hiking shoes/boots will suffice. However, if you do indeed encounter snow, these will be helpful:

Jason - As long as you're not outside for prolonged periods, a hat and light jacket with layers beneath as needed should suffice. Unless of course you're a wuss...

One day it got up into the 20s -and the Minnesotans were out in sweatshirts!!!

Just got done shovelling my walk: 12" of snow since noon yesterday...yeehaw! I'm on a corner lot, so...poor man's house with a rich man's sidewalk to maintain...

It's funny, but after the first thousand pounds you really don't feel the cold that much...but you start to feel other things, like your age...
