How about this faker...

Post by pflash4001 »

I saw a like to this on another music forum. This thing looks awful, but they are actually using the Ric name on their knock offs...Comments?

Awww, Jeez! This thread ought to be good.... Ballsy using the Rickenbacker name and a quasi correct TRC with Made In USA on it.

That's China for ya, where US Patent and Trademark laws are generally ignored and almost completely unenforceable...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

maybe mr. hall should **** this guy off by copying his bass guitars. the only person getting hurt by this is the person who gets stuck buying it. i don't think anyone worth their salt would believe it's an actual rick 4003 and mr. hall defending himself on this **** is a waste of money....hey, wait a minute ! i got it ! the faker people figure if they put out enough different companies making rickenfakers, that mr. hall will go bankrupt defending his ground and then RIC will go out of business leaving them all the rick customers to buy their garbage ! boy, ah iz schmahrt !

Personally i'd worry about those fakes that are almost unrecognizable from the original ... i'm still scared by some japan copies i saw here and there on the web.

Just a hunch, but I suspect that if you order one of these you will never actually get it. The site looks like a scam for the unsuspecting. The item's description looks like keyword spamming, and the site looks like a knock-off of ebay.

I agree. The site seems a little too concerned with it's "stocking time," "shipping time" and "reasons for the delay" info.

There have been no edits yet, however, this thread may be riding the fine line of being edited, locked or just disappearing.
I don't like fakers either, but let's please be careful about words we use to talk about people and businesses outside of the forum as well as in the forum.

Fortunately the accurate Japanese copies were all made 30+ years ago, so there aren't too many around any more. For what it's worth, none of them were ever, ever marketed with Rickenbacker logos.

The modern ones are largely little more convincing than this risible piece of offal, and logo or no, they're not gonna fool anyone.

Except 99.988% of the public doesn't know what a real Rick should look like.
