strings for a 330 or 360

Post by raider »

Sorry if this has been covered before what gauge string come on the
330 or 360 Rickenbacker :?: I ask this because I was watching You
Tube and someone had a 330 with 9 gauge on the guitar is there a
big difference between the 9's and 10's :?: Also what brand of strings
do you use on your Ricks and does anything have to be adjusted for
the different gauge string thanks in advance :)

Whenever changing string gauge and type (RW vs. FL) you may have to make adjustments to the truss rods, string height and intonation.

I have recently put D'Addario Chromes ECG23 strings on both my '67 330 and '98 360V64 and love them! :D The gauges of them are:

.010 - .014 - .020w - .128 - .038 - .048

I use D'Addario 10 gauge on all my six string Ricks except for my 325V59 (short scale), which has 12 gauge Chromes.

Big difference between D'Addario and Rickenbacker strings. The Rickenbacker strings are compression wound, which gives them a softer feel and sound. I use D'Addario strings on all my non RIC electric guitars, and Curt Mangan strings from Pick of the Ricks on the Rickenbackers. They are as good as the Rickenbacker strings, and are half the price.
