With that wavey flame, that guitar could go on the cover of a book.

Beautiful Rick! I checked my closet too, only a balled up pair of dirty socks. It would be great if Rickenbacker periodically re-issued some of these fine models from years past. I'd certainly like one with a bit thicker body.
Re: capri unknown history
Here she is; not too shabby! I didn't know what to expect but -- she's all original with a few battle scars, nothing major. Electronics all original; pots dated 48th week of 1958; color is Autumnglo bordering on Fireglo -- I can't tell which, but what does it matter? I think there's some flame going on there, too.
All in all, a nice old played Capri that doesn't need any work.
More pics later, but here's one to start:
As far as the history part goes, the seller told me: "I bought it in 1975 from a member of Moby Grape. He got his hair cut in our salon back then. That's all I know about it."
Go figure!

I figured it was you, Ron !
One of the most killer looking Rics I've ever seen----the grain is unbelievable. Looks like it's underwater.

That Accent really screams '60, not '58, to me. But that's just me.

Re: capri unknown history
I don't know the whole story on Ac'cents, but I have another Capri very close in serial number to this one that I know is stock and it also has the same kind of Ac'cent VB. I also have a later-dated '59 Capri with an original Kauffman VB. Go figure.customxke wrote:That Accent really screams '60, not '58, to me. But that's just me.
