Rick bass for LET IT BE sessions???

Post by RobRick »

I am not sure this is even the place to post this.

Some of you fans of the Fab Four may have discussed this to death already.

I know McCartney had his Rick bass at the LET IT BE or GET BACK sessions. It is clearly visable on a stand during TWO OF US.

However, a friend gave me a DVD of outtakes, and clearly there is a brief glimpse, right after Mick Jagger is shown in the control room, of the Beatles jamming, and the head of McCartney's rick is clear in the shot as he plays it and John and George jam. It is just the back of the head, but Paul is playing it during those sessions.

Anybody have other indications that Paul played his Rick at this time?

Those are the only two sightings I've seen from this time. It's interesting that the one of the back of the peghead has the Fireglo still intact, but the other shows the bass had been stripped.

At least it's back in use for "Abbey Road"!

The top one is the one I saw, and yeah, I didn't even notice the FG finish! Maybe just the front of the headstock was stripped. And yeah, that ABBEY ROAD era photo is very cool, and very telling.
