I never heard about that before. Very interesting indeed.

A personal connection for me is that Mr. Saterlee was my luthier, too, in the early seventies, and did various repairs, mods, and setups for my acoustics and electrics. He had a great reputation and was the only one I trusted until his shop closed some years later, I guess at least 1981. So that makes the story that much better for me. Thanks!

His shop in downtown San Francisco was well known for building and repairing not only guitars but violins and every kind of stringed instrument. They were called Satterlee and Chapin. I went to them exclusively for at least ten years. They did superb work.

I had the opportunity to play one of these yesterday at Elderly Instruments. Wow! It is a great sounding and playing guitar. I liked the 12 fret neck as it helped with the typical neck dive. I think it was priced at around $3600, not sure though as I played so many.
I also played a Graham Nash Martin it to was also very nice.
