4004L E string problem
I have a 2008 4004L/MG and i have a problem about my E string. This string sounds different than the others. I changed the strings D'addario xlb series -karma- 45-55-75-105 and sounds incredible but E string continues being different. What is the reason of that and how can I solve?

How is the string spacing relative to the pickups?
Re: 4004L E string problem
Take a look at the neck set up (dead flat) - my 4003s5 had a similar issue with the G string. A simple adjustment took care of it. Good luck.

Babur, it could have much to do with the setup as Tom suggests.
If you can get the neck as straight as possible, that may help.
If you can, post some pictures of the bridge and the strings going over the pickups. Mainly the E string.

Are you saying that your neck was dead flat and you adjusted it or are you saying it should be dead flat and you adjusted it?ram wrote:Take a look at the neck set up (dead flat) - my 4003s5 had a similar issue with the G string. A simple adjustment took care of it. Good luck.

the neck needs to be flat. see if it is and if not adjust... adjust string height and intonation as well. Joey's site explains how to do all of that and more:Tarrbot wrote:Are you saying that your neck was dead flat and you adjusted it or are you saying it should be dead flat and you adjusted it?ram wrote:Take a look at the neck set up (dead flat) - my 4003s5 had a similar issue with the G string. Oh, I understood that it needs to be set flat. Mine is flatter than... |censored| ... I just was making sure everyone else understood since it wasn't clear.ram wrote:the neck needs to be flat. see if it is and if not adjust... adjust string height and intonation as well. Oddly, I have the exact opposite problem with mine. The G sounds like it's on an active pickup it's so loud in comparison to the other 4 strings.
I may have to look at the neck now that you've brought that up. I hadn't thought about the neck being slightly off on that side of the fretboard.
It seems flat. I'll have to pull the strings out and put a straight-edge on it and go from there.
