What is replacing the C64?

Post by bpguitar »

When the 4001C64/C64S was cancelled earlier this year, Ric announced that the series was being phased out because of "overlap with coming products", or something to that effect. Has there been any speculation on what, if anything, might be replacing the 4001C64 in Rickenbacker's bass lineup? Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill,

Nothing that I'm aware of has been announced yet. RIC did do a limited run of RM1999 Reissues for the Japanese market, but not sure if that's what they were referring to.

I'd venture a GUESS that if we do hear something soon, it might just be announced at NAMM in January.

This thread discusses the same topic, but no official announcement has been made by RIC AKAIK:
