Rickenbrother conquers the world?

Post by BuddyDog »

Hi Joey,

It seems you are the moderator on almost every category in RRF. Was there a coup?

Congrats on the promotion!

Mark, Gary and Steve: It took several hours to make the changes and I wanted them completed first before an announcement. Those who make the lion's share of the contributions remain in place as RRF Consultants as you will see on the main page of the board. One consultant has found that he does not have enough time lately and so he has asked to remain as a contributor only. It is the consultants who drive the ideas and keep the topics fresh and you will see that they are prominently displayed.

We have had too many moderators for some time and this has been my fault when designing the board functions. The truth is not all moderators had the time and many chose not to comment at all. For this reason the number of moderators has been reduced to just a handful over all as they are able to carry the load. If we need more then that is fine and we will add some. I have tried to group them into the different sections of the RRF.

Howard: Thanks for your comment. Your pay is the same under the new arrangement. Incidently there are a number of RRF Consultant places remaining. There have been no takers for quite some time. Perhaps it is the pay scale.

The moderators for all topics also include admin, winston and gibsonlp and these have not been added to the Rickenbacker Forums section which makes it seem that Joey has the whole job to himself. This, of course, is not the case and I thank him for his help.

For those who would like to contribute more, please send me a PM and I will be pleased to find an RRF Consultant position for you.

Gary: The RRF Consultants do an excellent job in holding up their topic areas. Kira in not expected to be over-worked. If she is we will add another moderator to assist.

I think that 99% of the administrative work is just about showing up, so that's probably why I was asked to take on a larger share of the "load". I'm in several times a day usually, and I do care, that's all. If it serves the cause to simplify the admin stuff then I'm happy to just keep doing what I do, which is just to stay aware of most of what's posted and help out if needed. I respect and admire all our consultants in "my" new areas and I depend on them to continue the "real" work of contributing their knowledge and passion to our wonderful shared endeavor. I could never attempt to replace their expertise and enthusiasm and I hope that they will consider that I'm just here to help and facilitate if needed. It's a pleasure and an honor to be of use.

 I'm afraid that would create a big glitch in the space-time continuum. But come to think of it, I could send the other one out to get a good job so I could hang out here even more than I currently do. Yeah, that might work!
