Must have been after they met Dylan.
Yeah, with a little help from his friends. At that height I bet the others can't hear anything but drums.

Sure looks like Shea to me. If so, that would be August 23, 1966. See all the empty seats? Allegedly their failure to sell out (there were perhaps 10,000 unsold tickets) was a sign that they were on the wane.

The Beatles wore light suits at Shea in 1966, so this is not Shea. I'll have to do a little digging to see if I can narrow it down.

I see John is playing his Epiphone Casino, George is playing the newer model 360/12 string and using a capo. I'd hazard a guess that they're playing "If I Needed Some One" as the photo was taken. Guessing by the suits, I'm thinking this photograph was taken during their US tour when they played the Indiana [?] state fair

Look at the size and height of the stadium in Soulsaman's photo. Same or very similar upper grandstand, facade and lower grandstand as the Shea photo. Sure doesn't look like a county fair to me. Looks a great deal like the She picture Kris posted, but the suit color sure throws a wrench in that. Given the Summer, '66 tour dates, that photo would have to be from avenue such as Olympia Stadium in Detroit, Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Candlestick Park in SF, or...

...or else it's from a different tour, of course.

No, this is definitely the 1966 tour, as John and George didn't get the Casinos until '66.

So far, I've found photographic evidence that the Beatles wore the light suits at three venues in 1966 - Detroit, Cincinatti and New York. So the photo is not from any of these three shows. They wore dark suits in Memphis, but John wore dark glasses on stage at that show (possibly so someone wouldn't recognize him and take a shot at him? - They did receive death threats before the show). So the photo isn't from there either. They wore dark suits with black velvet collars in Chicago. I don't see the velvet collars in the photo, so I doubt it's from Chicago.

They wore dark suits (without the velvet collars) in Cleveland, Boston, St. Louis and Seattle, and wore white shirts with them. I can't find any photos from Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Toronto or Los Angeles. Looking at the photo, it appears that they were wearing printed shirts, which they wore at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on August 30th - Theur final live concert. I'm willing to bet this photo is from that venue, but it's always possible is could be from one of the four venues there are no photos for.

Hey Kris that's some serious forensics on your part!
You got my vote, I agree think its Candlestick park.
At first I thought it was Shea but I knew that they wore light suits so I didn't know where this pic was from.

Dodger Stadium makes sense, as it has a large gap in the outfield stadium much like Shea did. It certainly wasn't from the Boston show, as that was at Suffolk Downs, a horse track in East Boston/Revere that does not have grandstands anything like that.

I was way up to Paul's right. $5.00 tickets, not the $6.00 ones.
