These 8ers are able to start tsunamis. I've been expecting for one for a long time. Maybe one day...

Oops !... Of course, when I say "I've been expecting for one", I'm talking about the 8er, not the tsunami ;)

Mark Walker kindly pointed out to me that Björn Eriksson has a few basses from the 2003 Yokohama Music Fair, including the 4003VPCBFG & 4003VPCBJG, as well as the 4003BTJG which is mine! The VPCB (whatever that means!) are listed as limited to 24 each - wondering if mine was limited as well? Would love to get a copy of the Bass Magazine (Japanese) that had a story about it! Still, it's nice to know a little bit more about the bass's background...

Harry, VPCB means "vintage pickup (Toaster) checker bound." Apparently, RIC made a batch of 4003 basses with checker binding and mounted the Toaster pickup for a special order for dealer(s) in Japan. Other similar situations recently are the Blue Boy color available for overseas markets a year before it was given "Color of the Year" status for 2004, and the current batch of RM1999 look-alikes in the Japanese market. It's possible that this latest special could become the "new" vintage model available for order here, but there has been no official news on this since RIC announced the cessation of orders for the C64 and C64S models more than a year ago. Time will tell (?).

Got it! I figured out the CB from some other threads here, figured V was "vintage," but for the life of me didn't know what the P was! Should have studied the photos more closely!

"Black Walrus" & "Driving the Bus" (see first post in this thread) have been revamped - I always wondered what my favorite rock records would sound like scratched by a DJ - now I know!

Black Walrus (Over the Edge Mix)

Driving the Bus (Just in Case You Can't Hang Mix)
