Heeeelp! can someone look after a Horse for me!

They arrived!
Thanks to Tony (and to all the others who offered too) My Toasted Horse with Serial on a plate arrived today.
The serial number of 00 47681 according to the decoder suggests that:
"Your guitar was manufactured in week number 47 of the year 2000"
Which makes them late V63 sort of stuff.
The Shoe has a wind of 10.8 but the Toaster with slot headed screws has a reading of 6.23 has me baffled!
There is no evidence of tampering (unwinding). Could there be some early transitional scatterwinds with differing readings?
For now I'm sticking with the tapped HB-1 for the neck pickup but the Shoe is going in tonight!

Who else has funny readings for early scatterwind toasters?

Hey Eden, if the new horsey is installed, how about a vid comparing it to the RM? Oh, and that 6.23k reading is new to me. Closer to the 60s toaster winding readings. Whats your RM neck toaster read?

I never fitted the 6.23 toaster as I thought it would be a bit thin.
My RM has a toaster with 7.5 (if I remember correctly) on the richter scale and is fairly close to the strings...
The Horseshoe and the HB-1 did not work well together that well, they just did not compliment each other.
I fitted a hotwind toaster that I unwound a bit a few years ago (it's 9.somethingK) and it went with the Horse really well
It now sounds like a Bionic RM..
I had to glue steel washers on top of some of the Horse poles to get string volume even but now even with dead strings the bass rips along well.
I should do a comparison video....

Hi Eden,

I spotted this in Ted's bass anatomy threads:

"Early toasters were wound to around 6K ohms. Later ones where 7K to 8.5K ohms. I measured one from a 2004 4003VP that was only about 6.1K ohms. I have heard that some measure out as high as 10K ohms but have never actually seen one that high."

I only spotted it because last night I was looking at (and later bought) a toaster off eBay that the seller measured at 6.1 and I thought it odd too, but I had a vague recollection that Ted had covered this in one of his excellent threads.
