Who has a new Ric guitar/bass on order?

Post by bbobb24 »

Just curious, what does anyone have currently on order? I'm looking forward to a 660 6 string in Monty Brown and a 380L-PZ.

I have a lefty blue boy 360 with vintage pups on order since January. Sigh. But being a lefty i am pretty used to waiting. Doesn't necessarily make it any easier though. (no surprise there...)

I like the Blue Boy finish a lot, but the Monty Brown just blows me away.

At least you know the wait will be well worth it.

I have a FireGlo 620 on order. It's not slated to arrive until November. When it arrives at the dealer, it's being fitted with toasters and a vintage style trapeze tailpiece.

I'm also thinking about placing an order for a 350v63.

I have a jetglo 660/12 on order.

I could have a burgundy 660/12 at the moment but decided at what seemed like the last minute to change to jetglo. Such is the price we pay for our pseudo-Lennon mojo.

Bob, when was your 660 ordered? Mine was either last december or january (Can;t recall off the top of my head.)

Hey John, My 660 was ordered very recently, maybe a month ago. I realize that it's a decent wait, I can be patient. Mike Parks quoted me approx. 6 months or so. I picked up a Mapleglo 660 from Dave's and I'll probably sell that one when my Monty Brown one is ready, so I have something to hold me over.

There's genuine danger in that Rickenbacker waiting period. You can easily succumb to temptation again and again, and in the process order more guitars than you can really afford. I ordered a 380L PZ and a 370/12 VP MB at different times last year, thinking that the delivery would be staggered nicely. They both arrived at the exact same time, and my VISA got whalloped. I won't be doing that again. One at a time, thank you.

Oh, I've got a 700C/12 E3 in Fireglo on order. For the sake of my finances and my long-suffering girlfriend, I hope it takes 10 years to get here!

I've thought about that and I'm pretty sure that I'm safe. The 380L-PZ has been on order with the shop for a couple months now and should, hopefully, be in in July and the 660 was ordered new and should take longer. And the 660 in Monty that I order is taking the place of the Mapleglo that I have now so the funds from the sale of the Mapleglo will cover what's still owed on the Monty 660.

See, I have it all figured out, kind of....

The danger of concurrent delivery is what's keeping me from placing an order for another Ric.

Waiting for delivery is hard, but when that guitar arrives I know I'll have an instrument that was made
for me.
