I do indeed own a birthday guitar, and purchased it for that exact reason when it came up on eBay a few years ago.
The guitar, a mint condition September '76 4001 in AutumnGlo (dark brown around the edges, fading to a natural maple colour in the middle of the body), matches me, a mint condition September '76 guy with dark brown hair around the edges, fading to natural maple-coloured complexion in the middle of my body.

Well, i don't own it, but i have been fortunate to play Darren Trotts 1960 Capri. It's really quite strange playing a guitar built the same year i was!! :D

Yeah, it would be fun, but the selection is a bit limited. I suppose one of those Console 500's would be cool...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
