Meddy's People on ebay - "Ya Gotta Have Moxie 2 CD"
This is my old band from the 60's and they are selling this "Ya Gotta Have Moxie 2 compilation CD (2 disks) on ebay. It's never ceased to amaze me how this could have happened without me knowing about it. Obviously we never received any royalties for these sales.

Brian, you should flag the auction and have it pulled.
Ka is a wheel.

It's already gone. Finished or pulled?

We were only one of many artists on that CD but when they originally issued those nobody contacted me to see if it was OK for them to include our recording. We appear on several compliations CD's I understand. Like I said it's amazing that they get away with this. The record company that we signed with in 1966 (Quality Records of Canada Ltd) ceased operations in 1985. So I guess they figure that we are fair game.

The seller is probably just an innocent buyer of the compilation in the first place. I don't see any sense in shutting down his auction over something occurred a few years ago and that is far beyond his control. I would have to chase every sale and purchase that occurs on the net. I am not about to do that. I only brought it up because it just goes to show how liberties are taken in the music business.

Yep, and how difficult it is to monitor/police such things.winston wrote:... it just goes to show how liberties are taken in the music business.

The posting tagline from one of our members seems appropriate:winston wrote:We were only one of many artists on that CD but when they originally issued those nobody contacted me to see if it was OK for them to include our recording.
